What are the 3 basic guitar chords? – Best Way To Learn Guitar Reddit

There are three basic guitar chords; a ii-V-I chord, a vi-IV-I chord and a V-I-V-I chord.
A ii-V-I chord is used in almost every single rock genre but you can also just as easily do a ii-V-I chord with an Am chord or a G chord.
For example, with the chords I Am V I Am VI, it’s a ii-V-I chord because it contains a major 7th chord, but it’s also a V-I-V-I chord because it also contains an Am chord.
