What do guitar lessons cost? – Learn Guitar Online Free Beginner Guitar

If you have a good teacher, those who specialize in guitar lessons tend to break even (which is not necessarily the case, as some lessons are just easier). But how does the teacher go about paying for those lessons?

We started by comparing the average price of a single lesson to the number of hours it takes to complete one, assuming that the teacher is an experienced musician. We then did some digging to figure this out.

The answer is surprisingly simple. A musician playing guitar alone on the couch will usually cost significantly less than a studio band, where music and gear are brought in to provide musicians with practice, practice, and more practice.

“A musician playing guitar alone on the couch will usually cost significantly less than a studio band…”

In other words, a practice session is less expensive than a gig as a guitar player.

Here’s a chart detailing this:

How Do We Do This?

Using this data, we compiled an “average” price of a single lesson for professional musicians and studios.

The analysis shows that it’s very similar to what you’ll be paying if you’re just starting out with a hobby, and it’s about average (or higher, especially if you have a really good teacher).

Here’s the deal. The guitar lessons you pay for should be relatively short, meaning that you should see results within a week or two. Otherwise, you’re missing out on the most interesting and most valuable lessons.

What About the “Cheaper” Lessons?

What about lessons that cost a few bucks? For this analysis, we looked at the cheapest professional lessons that cost 10 or more dollars per lesson.

And there you have it.

Now you have a good idea of the cost you’ll be paying for a single lesson. It will vary depending on your instructor, the length of a session (for example: a week on the couch vs. hours under your belt), and more. But that’s the point.

In order to afford a lesson, you need to get in the habit of learning by doing.

If there wasn’t an alternative to an instructor, you wouldn’t be able to afford to practice. So start practicing now.

But first, you need to practice.

Start Practice

Don’t just jump straight into practice sessions and expect to get results any time soon. Practice is the key to playing effectively on guitar, and practicing takes skill.
