If you’re only interested in it for use and not as a starter guitar, go ahead and sell it. If you want to build a larger, improved guitar, go ahead and sell your old.

A person who has spent years on a beginner guitar, can appreciate why a new one wouldn’t be used long because the old one doesn’t feel so good. As long as you maintain a good, comfortable guitar you will be happy with forever. A broken, rusted, or worn out guitar will not last long in the hands of someone who does not know what they are talking about.
