The Stratocaster? It’s the top of the line. When I started playing guitar in 1965 I played almost exclusively Les Pauls. And they were awesome. But the strat, the original Stratocaster, is amazing. In the early ’70s, I played the Rangemaster, Fender Twin Reverb, all these incredible guitars, but I would really love to play the Fender Stratocaster, which is the top guitar on the market. It has all the great features I’d really want. I know I’m asking for a lot, but I want the Rangemaster. When I play it, it’s all I can do to stay upright, I can’t do anything else.

The Gretsch Stratocaster. I love the Stratocasters. My parents used to give me the ’70s acoustic Gretsch Stratocaster. And it’s an incredible acoustic. There’s nothing better for playing acoustic than the Gretsch Stratocaster.

I play it on a lot of my songs. I played on “Walkin’ on Sunshine,” “Sugaree,” “I’ve Got a Feeling,” “Rockin’ in the Free World,” but the guitar was in the car.
