Can an older person learn to play piano? – Learn To Play Piano App
(Answer: I am not sure. I have played the piano for years – in my teens and twenties. I can even play an old keyboard which makes its sound in an old computer.)
A few months ago, when I was having my first piano lesson, while playing a piano, I noticed my teacher talking to one of the students. I was impressed, but I was somewhat confused by the question. Why was the teacher talking to a student instead of a teacher who has the student sitting on his lap at the piano? I had been practicing using both my hands for some time, then started using one-handed practice. I thought to myself, well, I would like to learn to use only one hand so I would have the option of playing with my left or right hand. So I took my hands, turned them in a clockwise pattern, and placed my left hand on my lap. What did I find? A few months later, I was playing a piano all right. The only difference was that I didn’t have to put that hand on my lap anymore! I was now “free-flowing”. This was an incredible feeling for me to experience! I was beginning to believe that I could learn to master any skill or form of music by simply working at it. So, how do you decide to use both your left and right hands in your piano studies?
“There are many types of pianists.”
In many musical traditions, one or both hands or both feet are more likely to play some chord than the other hand or foot. It’s usually more convenient to use the piano as a stepping stone to other types of musical endeavors. The reason for this preference in piano technique is that it improves the overall feel of the piano. If you had to take both your hands and feet off the piano to play the piano, you would lose the overall feeling of the piano. If you take your left hand and feet off the piano to play another instrument or instrument with your left hand or foot, then you would also lose the overall feel of the piano. So, it’s a question of which two hands or feet are more efficient at playing the piano at the present time.” A few months ago, when I was having my first piano lesson, while playing a piano, I noticed my teacher talking to one of the students.
