How many years will it take to learn violin? – Piano Learning Methods

There are five violinists you meet:

1. One who is in their prime;

2. One who has played since they were little;

3. One who is still learning;

4. One who has played since they are no longer in their prime.

This means that they each have been able to master the game of their playing without the same amount of years they have played. For example, a six-year-old can’t actually play a string of B’s and J’s. That just isn’t possible because their knowledge of the instrument will be extremely limited. So, this gives you a rough idea as to “how old” a violinist is.

The best advice I can give to any player about learning a musical instrument is: Do not underestimate just one aspect of it. Just by playing the music and listening, you have already established that you have “good timing”, but there is a lot more you can learn!

How to learn violin from scratch?

There are a number of things that you have to be aware of when you are first starting out on your musical journey.

Learning to play in a small group

There are some techniques that you want to be able to master while you learn from a group of other musicians, so that you can use that knowledge to create some real life violin-playing! Learning by playing on a stage (which can be called a “concert”)

There are only a limited number of “real life” concerts that you can go to. You can learn to play by playing concerts, but you will need a dedicated school/concert hall, orchestra, or rehearsal space, and you’ll probably need to study to play like an old man! So, you’ll have to travel for many weeks and months to try to learn this way.

That said, there are several ways to gain practice time in front of your own eyes – here are two.

There is the first method (which you probably already know): It is very simple, but requires a lot of dedication from you and your teacher in order to succeed. You need to be able to hear your own voice playing within the context of the music, and that is going to be very challenging to learn and play
