What would you say is the hardest part about piano? Is it feeling?

A: I’m a hard worker. Sometimes, I think I get overworked or stressed out, but I always feel like I can do it – I always know what I have to do. I always feel like if I can just make a big beat I could be good. I always have a good idea. But I’m not a great piano player. I still have to learn a lot of things! I’m learning piano – I still haven’t quite figured out everything yet.

Q: Do you play piano with a partner? Are you with someone else most of the time?

A: I play some time with my piano partner. Sometimes, I’m alone, but I don’t really play with anyone right now. That’s how long my relationship has been. He’s great, he really listens – I really enjoy playing with him. It doesn’t last very long though. He’s got a really good taste in music.

Q: Are you in a relationship with a person? If so, how long do you think it will last?

A: I’ve been in a relationship with my partner for a few years now and we just got engaged on the last birthday. He really got into piano after my death, so after that we started playing with his band and playing all the time.

Q: What’s your musical background?

A: A lot of jazz, classical, hip hop, and country. My favorite thing is to play piano in a band, but in our band I’m on the bass and he plays on the piano. His name is Justin Crenshaw, and we went on our band tour last year before we got married. He lives in San Francisco and plays with [San Francisco band] G.o.D.

Q: When did you find an instrument?

A: I was a very slow kid, and I didn’t have a guitar and drum set. I’m not really a big drummer type at this point, though. When my friends found me a guitar and drums, I tried to learn them. But I got pretty good at playing jazz drums for a while and figured it out, but nothing was really going on. I’m still working a little bit on that, but I still haven’t really figured out what it is.
