How do you rhyme rap? – How To Freestyle Rap

How do you rhyme rap like a rapper?”

“Aha! Rap is my bitch.” —Kanye West

Now, if you’ve only read about how great Rap is, you probably don’t know that there’s much “under the hood,” or that some of the original Wu-Tang was actually just a bunch of white guys who did the music for Free Masons and played in punk rock bands and had bad haircuts.

You might only know about the genius songwriting of “My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy” and “Gone” that have gone onto be considered the best rap of all time.

But if you don’t know any of these songs, and you don’t know who the Wu-Tang Clan were, you definitely missed out if you didn’t hear about them while listening to rap music—or watching rap music—as a child.

This is where Hip-Hop 101 comes in. As a young child, I didn’t know a whole lot about the “hood” as I knew what the word meant. I just knew it was a cool place to go to when you didn’t have class or work and there was a lot of things to do at night.

I just had an appreciation for street and hood life when I was a child and it carried over into the way I thought of music at that age.

In my opinion, what’s the best rap album of all time? That’s a tough question, as if there had to be one. But in my mind there was only one, and that should make it no surprise that a major pop star once said it best:

“Rap is my bitch”, Kanye West.

So in keeping with the hip-hop culture trend of having albums of Hip-Hop albums become the pop album, I’ve chosen two popular Hip-Hop albums that were so great that I couldn’t be happier that I never got to hear them live—because I don’t like rap that much.

I hope for the sake of Hip-Hop’s continued growth that they can continue to come back to us. If you enjoy rap music in general, I suggest listening to both Kendrick Lamar’s “To Pimp a Butterfly”, and Kanye West’s own “Late Registration”, as both are outstanding.

Enjoy!
