What are the 6 types of voices? – Vtech Stand And Learn Singing Notes Clipart Images
It’s interesting to think about the differences. There are two types of language – the one you use to say things and the other ones you use to communicate with others. Most people use English as a language, but there are many other languages – in fact everyone with any intelligence can speak another language.
But what about your own language, that one you spoke to a friend who just woke up? Let’s imagine that your friend is a native speaker of French or German. Can you tell the difference between English and her native language?
Of course you can’t – the fact that you’re able to speak your own language implies that you understand what you see and hear. What we need to do is to focus on our own language.
There are six different linguistic differences of different importance, you can see them in the following tables:
When you listen to a conversation between yourself and another language learner, you might notice something quite surprising:
In one of the sentences in the following examples, I had learned (or rather, felt the need to learn – or rather, felt the need to think in English, but I have not been able to think in French) that the speaker of my language is a native French speaker, which means that all of the information I’ve collected from this conversation is correct, so there’s no need to guess what I’m talking about. In fact, there are no mistakes in the French speaker’s voice whatsoever.
Note that the English words (or grammatical structures) from the other language are always the same.
Now let’s have the speaker speak in my language to another person. This is a more sensitive test: do you detect any difference in their voice?
If you are confident that they have acquired all the information you’ve collected while listening to their conversation, you will be able to guess. This is the same question you would ask if they were talking to you, from your side.
If you are very surprised to hear one or more of these linguistic differences but the listener is still able to understand what’s being said, you can probably guess what the question is.
How can you tell who’s speaking your language?
The most useful way to find out this kind of information is by listening to someone’s conversation with another language learner.
What does it do to make somebody’s speech different to yours?
Some of the linguistic differences you’ve heard about in your mind are just sounds we recognize,
