How can I learn ukulele chords fast? – Simple Ukulele Chord Chart
Here’s a quick tutorial to help you get started, and if you need more information, we’ve got a more detailed post with some of the chords in this post.
The key to learning and playing the chord is to be able to play in the key of A major with the strings on the C string. If you can easily play the chords on the F, G, and D string chords, then you’re ready to play the full notes in the key of A major.
If you can’t make it in the key of A major, it doesn’t matter. Just play the chord and keep practicing in the key of A major.
How do you play the chords in A major?
The chords in this post are the A, E, G, and D. If you’ve ever done a bass-lines workout for the bass, you may know that the scales come after the chord.
In the bass-line workout, you play the bass lines with the notes on the left, and the notes in the key of A major on the right. So when looking at the key of A major in the chord, the first thing you’re going to see is the scale and the second thing you’re going see is the pattern on the left (1, 4, 2, 5, 6, 3, 6, 4, 2, 3, 3).
How to learn these chords?
For this exercise, you don’t need to do bass-lines workouts. You can just take the chord patterns and use them in a regular exercise (for example, if you want to practice A minor chords in the main position), but if you want to learn these chords in a more advanced way, you’ll want to practice this in the key of A major (1, 2, A, A).
Here’s how you could do it:
1. Select a major key to start with, as with C major in the previous exercise. 2. Play the chord patterns below, in the key of A major, in order. 3. When you can play the whole pattern, put the strings down on the C string, as in the previous exercise. 4. Play the chord pattern below, as a 3rd degree augmented blues, which gives you a C major chord. 5. Now, start playing these chords in your regular jazz bass-lines workout.
