How long does it take me to become good?

In about a year, I believe that most beginners will learn how to play their ukulele. Over the course of many months, it takes all the practice you can get and lots of practice after that to get to know your uke even better.

What’s the difference between a new ukulele player and an expert?

To an expert ukulele player, the more you practice on his ukulele the more comfortable you’ll get playing it with others. If you’re good on your ukulele, you probably won’t have problems with others playing your new ukulele.

I think the difference between being good at the ukulele and being a good ukulele player is in the interaction between uke players. There are some excellent teachers and many good people playing ukulele as well.
