The official website for the ongoing TV anime adaptation of Kishimoto’s Nisekoi manga began streaming a first commercial for the first episode today.

The series centers on Akane Tsunemori, a woman who loves nisekoi as it is and doesn’t enjoy the way men think about it. In contrast, her male friend, Haruki Asaka, sees nisekoi simply as a fun night-and-day affair.
Kishimoto launched the manga in 2010 and Kadokawa Comics published the 21st and final compiled volume in Spring 2014. Yen Press published the 21st compiled volume in North America. Shueisha published the manga’s 25th compiled volume in April 2015.
The manga inspired a TV anime which aired in Japan before its 2016-2017 television anime season. Crunchyroll streamed the series as it aired in Japan. Media Blasters will release the series digitally in North America.
The series also inspired a sequel manga titled Nisekoi The Animation. The second volume will ship in July with bonus short stories.
Tsurumaki is also involved in the manga’s upcoming sequel in an advisory role.
Tsurumaki originally wrote the original story on which the anime is based. Yasuki Kato is handling the series composition and Shun Isoyama (The Disappearance of Nagato Yuki-chan , K-ON!’s Satsuki) is adapting the story for animation. The series received an anime special in the year-end issue of Shueisha ‘s Jump Square magazine in 2014.
The original story follows the “story of a beautiful college student who is consumed by the desire to have sex every single day until the day she dies.” The manga has already inspired four TV anime, three video anime spin-off and three live-action movies.
