How do you spray paint a compressor? – Youtube Spray Paint Art Planet

I’m on my way to paint a motor. I don’t know how to make a good paint on it. So, are there the steps in this thread for what to do when you want paint on that thing?

I used an 80% dry-brush/20% water mixture to paint the part, since I knew it wasn’t going to come out dry. I added a small amount of polyurethane to get it to adhere to the pipe. It wasn’t too hard, but it was a little more time-consuming than I wanted it to be. I know this is a common misconception of the process.

Here’s the part in question:

I used a medium grey wash to cover the entire pipe. It didn’t take too deep. I think I’ll be using a thin white wash to finish it off.

I have seen others paint it differently (white, white-ish) however some use a brown tint to it. I used the brown spray-on (pictured above) for the first two coats of red, and then it was painted with an easy-to-work coat (white). You could use a clear or clear grey spray-on for the third coat (white), you wouldn’t see any white on it.

The third coat was very easy to paint. There were no flaws along the lines of what I expect from a good finish, it was very easy and very nice. I didn’t need to wait for a week or so for it to harden before putting it on. I think I’ll go back and spray-on the fourth or fifth coat instead.

A little bit of dry time is always appreciated. The next layer of paint was the final layer of dry-brush to apply more paint. It’s a matter of deciding what color to paint the metal underneath…I’m leaning towards a metallic blue like that from the Dark Gray wash.
