What can I do to make spraying my painting more appealing? (Hint: a lot)

I’m not sure the best way to ask this is to answer a question like this. The first thing I want to say is that it’s not all that difficult. But for people looking for a more “professional” level of experience, here are some tips:

1. Try to find a spray booth. It’s a great opportunity to have an audience.

2. Don’t forget to clean up your paint during your hour.

3. Practice in the middle of the day.

4. Wear a respirator. It is extremely difficult to dry paint with no clothing on. And there are many reasons people get sick. Don’t assume you are immune by just being lazy and sitting indoors.

5. Don’t just do the basics. The basics are great but not always the way to go. Don’t be afraid to do things like wet painting, painting of multiple canvases and different techniques.

6. If you want a professional, make sure that the artist is skilled and skilled with their own equipment. I know some people feel that a professional should be able to take their paints down to their garage and clean them in their garage. It’s just not an option. In my opinion, you have to actually practice and hone them. It’s the best way to develop the ability to make your own work on a professional level. If you feel an artist can do something or know how to do something better than you, then do it. But if they don’t and you like something you can do just as well, then go for it.

7. Practice the basics. It’s going to look good.

All of this will take a lot of time and effort but if I had to be objective about it: learning to spray well isn’t hard. That said, there are a lot of things you need to know before you are comfortable. They are all so obvious and will take at least four hours to complete a workshop. That’s far too long to be anything more than fun while you are there. I’ll try to take it out of the “fun” category and actually write down some of my things to learn and tips that will make me a better professional. I won’t go into this in much more detail, but I can say that learning to spray well takes a long time and experience in making your own work on a professional level.

Good luck
