If you know the history of your neighbourhood then you will understand that tagging is a way of trying to get people to notice your work. The tags can be on walls, floors or objects, but they all say different things. You might find a “Mama’s Little Helper”, an “I’ll Be Gone” or an “No More Love.” It can be an important message to send to your neighbourhood. The tags don’t usually have any visible meaning. For example we found someone tagged in the local area with “The Great Train Bitch”, but the tag itself said “No Love”. The owner of the tag seemed pretty happy with their tagline but was willing to let it go so we decided to leave it outside.

You should be very careful when removing graffiti to make sure it can’t get in a closed door or window. It is important to keep your tags away from doors and windows. It is easy to lose their power to come out, especially when you are trying to clean a large area of graffiti.
