How much weight can you lose in a month on ketosis? – Weight Loss Programs
My weight has fallen by 6 pounds in the last two weeks – this was not easy at all. My keto diet has not killed me, just brought me up to a healthy weight and some muscle mass, though some fat loss!
What’s your secret for losing weight quickly on low-carb?
I’ve been eating a low-fat (30–40% calories from carbs) ketogenic diet since I was young, but I thought it could be a bit tricky. So I had my doctor sign off on my first attempt before I even thought to lose weight.
The diet is really easy, with a low-carbohydrate, gluten-free diet. You can choose your own protein, fat, carbohydrates and vegetables, and you choose to eat mostly lean meat (chicken, fish, wild game) or vegetables (butternut squash, sweet potato, eggplant, broccoli, Swiss chard, collards, spinach, spinach leaf.) I have added veggies to my foods (I was worried about them not working properly!) and you are limited to two large servings of leafy greens per meal while eating a lot of meat. Other small-to-moderate vegetables can add an interesting flavor, and I find them to be very tasty with plenty of protein. A lot of the fiber you get from vegetables is helpful for your digestive system, and there are plenty of “good” oils, such as canola or olive, that are very low in fat, and it is important to get your oils in your body.
When is optimal weight to achieve?
I recommend aiming at a healthy weight after eating at least three large meals per day as a keto diet works best on the body’s needs, such as an appetite stimulant (which will reduce hunger and help you to eat fewer calories), and some protein to help your muscles build. My ideal weight for the next several weeks after I have stopped eating carbohydrates at my regular calorie-level is about 115 pounds without any added fat.
